About Us

Who we are:

Hassan Ouabout:

was born and raised in Hassi Labied, a wonderful town located in southeast Morocco near Merzouga Erg Chebbi. Lahcen is from a Berber tribe, which used to live a nomadic life, but had to settle down in the village of Merzouga.

Hassan studied frensh and english literatures. He graduated  on 07-07-2012 from University Moulay Ismail in Meknes, He has also taken part in many documentaries made about his village, the nomad life and the Sahara desert. Since childhood Hassan has become an experienced tour guide around the entire south of Morocco, stretching east through the Dades and Toudgha Gorges to Merzouga, as far south as Zagora and the dunes of Erg Chebbi and from Marakkech, Fes, and Casablanca.

Hassi Labied is the last village accessible by road at that point of the Sahara. Hassan’s family, like many other nomad families, has now abandoned their nomadic existence and live slightly further north in Hassi Labied. Therefore, Hassan started working at a local bivouac at Erg Chebbi as a camelman. Since 2008, and tours organization since 2012, he has guiding tourists around Morocco especially in sahara desert. He is very highly appreciated by all our clients. They like him for his good humour, respectful, great knowledge of the locality, his helpfulness and friendliness. He speaks English, French and Spanish, as well as Moroccan standard Arabic, and his original language which is Berber (Tamazight) and knows various phrases in other languages.

Hassan has a great deal of experience in tourism, having worked as a guide and receiving  guests in a bivouac in Merzouga dunes. He receives much acclaim for his thoughtfulness, kindness and willingness to please as well as his ability to explain his culture and his background.
