Detailed Day Wise Itinerary

  • Day 1: Arrival in Fes » Transfer to the hotel/riad

    Once we pick you up from the airport and get you to your hotel/raid, if you arrive early, we'll take a tour of Fes Medina before heading to the hotel/riad. Fes is one of Morocco's oldest and most culturally important cities, founded way back in the 8th century. The oldest part of Fes, known as the medina, dates back to the 13th century, and you'll get to see skilled artisans working in its winding streets. After our tour, we'll return to your hotel/riad for the night and have dinner.

  • Day 2: Fes Sightseeing [Sightseeing Guided Day Tour]

    In the morning, after breakfast, we'll take you to see the Royal Palace or explore the charming old part of Fes, known as the Medina, with its amazing buildings and historical sites. Fes is a significant cultural hub in Morocco. Later in the afternoon, you'll have some free time to relax or take a leisurely stroll around on your own.

  • Day 3: Fez » Ifrane » Midelt » Valle de Ziz » Erfoud » Merzouga[482Km]

    Once we've had breakfast, we'll start our journey to the desert. Along the way, we'll make a few interesting stops. We'll visit Ifrane, pass through a cedar forest in Azrou, reach Midelt, and stop at Errachidia reservoir. We'll also enjoy the beautiful sights of the Ziz Valley and make our way to Erfoud, which is often called "the gateway to the Sahara desert". As we approach the Merzouga area, we'll catch the sunset from the Borj d'Est viewpoint, which offers stunning views. Then, we'll drive to the Erg Chebbi dunes, where we'll spend the night.

  • Day 4: Merzouga desert tour » Rissani Market » Erg Chebbi » Camel trek[50Km]

    After breakfast, we'll explore the Erg Chebbi dunes. We'll check out the Merzouga Oasis, visit a nomad family in their tents using 4x4 vehicles, head to the village of Khamlia (home to black people), see the M'Fis mines, and take in the desert view. Around 3 o'clock, we'll return to our accommodation to prepare for the camel trek. After some rest and getting your stuff together, you'll hop on camels for a ride to catch the beautiful sunset on the dunes. We'll spend the night at a Berber camp near the sand dunes, where you can enjoy music around the campfire and savor a tasty dinner prepared by a local chef. It's a magical night sleeping in "Bivouacs" under the starry sky.

  • Day 5: Desert Erg Chebbi » Rissani » Gorges of Todgha » Dades Gorges[273Km]

    In the morning, your camel guide will wake you up for a sunrise experience in the dunes. After breakfast and a quick shower, we'll leave the dunes and make our way to Erfoud. From there, we'll head to Tineghir, where we'll visit the "Fougartas", which is an old sewer system from the 15th century. We'll also check out the Tinghir palm grove.

    Next, we'll reach the Todra Gorges, where we'll take a break, have some lunch, and explore the city and the Boulmane Dades valley. Our journey will continue to the Dades Gorges, where the river has created a stunning landscape by eroding the rocks. We'll have dinner and spend the night at a lovely hotel in Dades Gorges.

  • Day 6: Dades Gorges » Roses Valley » Kelaat M'Gouna » Skoura » Ouarzazate[212Km]

    In the morning, we'll hit the road and take the track that leads to the Rose Valley, known as Kalaat M'Gouna, and the charming Berber village of Boutghrart. There, we'll share some Berber tea with a local family. We'll continue our journey along the "Thousand Kasbahs" route, making stops to admire kasbahs, the landscape, and valleys, and even see nomads living in caves. Our next stop is Skoura, and from there, we'll make our way to the Ait Benhaddou kasbah, which you might recognize from various movies like Obelix, Gladiator, and Games of Thrones. We'll have dinner and spend the night at a hotel.

  • Day 7: Ouarzazate » Ait Benhaddou Kasbah » Tizi N'Tichka Pass » Marrakech[212Km]

    We'll head to the amazing Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, famous for being a filming location for movies like Obelix, Gladiator, Games of Thrones, and many more. We'll also visit another Kasbah named Telouet. In the late afternoon, we'll return to Marrakech, passing through the Tizi N'Tichka pass with its stunning scenery, reaching heights of 2260 meters. For the night, we'll stay at a riad or hotel in Marrakech.

  • Day 8: Marrakech Sightseeing [Sightseeing Guided Day Tour]

    Enjoy a day in Marrakech with a local guide. The city is famous for its Jemaa El-Fna, a lively square filled with unique smells, sounds, and experiences. You'll spend a good amount of time here taking it all in.

    But Marrakech has so much more to offer too. You can explore places like the Majorelle Gardens, Menara, and Saadian Tombs, and wander through the Mellah, the old Jewish neighborhood. You can also take a walk along the city walls, and check out the modern side of Marrakech in Gueliz, where you'll find a more Western lifestyle.

    After a day of exploration, you'll have dinner and stay overnight at a hotel that matches your chosen hotel category.

  • Day 9: Marrakech » Essaouira » Marrakech[382Km]

    In the morning, we'll set off on a day trip from Marrakech to Essaouira, which is about a 2-and-a-half-hour drive. There, we'll visit the wooden crafts museum housed in an old palace. You'll see a watchtower and the Skala by the harbor, where you can enjoy views of the coast, islands, and the city. The gate of the Marina connects the city and the harbor, and you can watch the lively fish auctions. Inside the medina's narrow streets, you'll find many craftsmen working on jewelry and wood, all nestled beneath the city's protective walls. In the evening, we'll return to Marrakech and stay at the same riad/hotel as the previous two nights.

  • Day 10: Marrakech » Casablanca[244Km]

    In the morning, right after having breakfast at your place, we'll leave Marrakech and head to Casablanca. There, we'll explore the Hassan II Mosque, check out the old and new parts of the city, and visit the Hubbous traditional market if you'd like to pick up some souvenirs. We'll wrap up the day by staying overnight at a hotel.

    After having breakfast where you're staying, we'll head to Rabat, the capital of Morocco, to see the Hassan Tower and Oudayas Kasbah. Following our visit to Rabat, we'll drive to Meknes, a city that flourished under Sultan Moulay Ismail's rule. Just 27 kilometers away from Meknes, there's a Roman city called Volubilis, where we'll take a stroll. After exploring Volubilis, we'll return to Meknes and take a walk through the city of Moulay Ismail, visiting his tomb, El Hedime Square, and Bab El Mansour. For the night, we'll stay in a hotel or riad.

  • Day 12: Meknes » Fes[75Km]

    Today, we'll take you back to Fes, either to your accommodation or to the airport for your flight. This marks the end of our 12-day Fabulous Morocco tour from Fes via the Merzouga desert.
