Detailed Day Wise Itinerary

  • Day 1: Arrival in Fes » Transfer to the hotel/riad

    When you land at the airport in Fez, you'll be right in the heart of the city's historic Medina, which is like the old downtown. Your first night in Morocco will be spent at a cozy hotel or riad in Fez.

  • Day 2: Fes Sightseeing [Sightseeing Guided Day Tour]

    Today you'll have a free full day in Fez, you get to explore the city with a local guide. As you step into the old part of town called the Medina, it's like taking a step back in time. You'll notice that people still work in traditional groups, and the streets are so narrow that only donkeys can get through. It's a lively place with lots of folks going about their day.

    You'll wander through these winding streets and come across unique neighborhoods, like the Andalusians, beautiful mosques, and schools where people study the Quran. Fez has a long history of being connected to religion, and it's still the spiritual heart of Morocco.

    Once you've explored the Medina, you can also stroll around Fez El-Jdid, which is home to the royal palace, the Mellah (the Jewish quarter), and the oldest mosque in Fez. At the end of the day, you'll head back to your chosen hotel or riad for a good night's rest.

    After having breakfast at your accommodation in Fez, we're off to Midelt. We'll drive through the mountains and forests with lots of cedar trees in the Middle Atlas. On the way, we'll pass through Ifrane, a charming ski resort, and Azrou, a place known for its skilled artisans who work with cedarwood.

    Then we'll reach Midelt for lunch. In the afternoon, we'll head down towards Erfoud and Errachidia, passing through the Ziz Valley. This valley is full of palm trees and looks picturesque.

    Our journey will take us to the sandy dunes of Erg Chebbi. You'll have dinner and stay overnight at a hotel in Merzouga, depending on the hotel category you've chosen.

  • Day 4: Merzouga desert tour » Rissani Market » Erg Chebbi » Camel trek[50Km]

    After breakfast, we'll go on an exciting desert journey, following the tracks used for "The Paris-Dakar Rally". We'll meet some desert nomads who will share tea with us, and we'll visit an oasis where they filmed movies like "Sahara", starring Penélope Cruz.

    Next, we'll head to the town of "Khamlia", which is well-known for its traditional desert music called "Gnawa". They play this music using instruments like the Jembi, Hajhouj, and drums.

    After a taste meal, we'll switch from 4x4 vehicles to riding on camels. These dromedaries will take us into the desert dunes, where we can watch a beautiful sunset. The night will be truly special as we'll sleep in the dunes in nomadic tents, just like the Berbers do. You'll enjoy a delicious dinner, music around the campfire, and a starry night that you'll always remember. Dinner and a night in a Berber camp.

  • Day 5: Desert Erg Chebbi » Rissani » Gorges of Todgha » Dades Gorges[273Km]

    Early in the morning, we'll head up the dunes to catch the sunrise, a breathtaking sight. You can choose to take a nice walk or hop on a camel to explore the Sahara desert's dunes.

    Afterward, we'll have breakfast and freshen up with a shower at the Berber camp. Then, we'll get back into our 4x4 vehicles to explore the Hamada, which is a stony desert. Sometimes you'll come across small oases with palm trees, and it's amazing to see life flourishing in such a place.

    In a little over 2 hours, we'll reach Tineghir, which is the lushest oasis in the southern region. From there, we'll make our way to the Todra Gorges. You'll have some time to walk through the oasis, observe their crops and how they water them, and take a unique stroll through the gorge. At the end of the day, we'll have dinner and spend the night at a hotel of your choice based on the hotel category you've selected.

  • Day 6: Dades Gorges » Roses Valley » Kelaat M'Gouna » Skoura » Ouarzazate[212Km]

    As we continue our journey along the Kasbah path, we might take a little detour into the Dades Valley. Here, you'll come across some of the most beautiful Kasbahs, especially in the Skoura palm grove.

    Heading back from Ouarzazate, we'll make our way to the Ait Benhaddou Kasbah. It's one of the biggest Kasbahs in the southern region and has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1986. Many parts of it are well-preserved because it's been featured in numerous movies.

    We'll spend the night in a hotel or riad right in front of the Kasbah, allowing us to visit it calmly and away from the hustle and bustle of the usual tourist times. Dinner and a good night's sleep will be at a hotel near the Ait Benhaddou Kasbah.

  • Day 7: Ouarzazate » Telouet Kasbah » Tizi N'Tichka Pass » Marrakech[212Km]

    The 9-day trip from Fez to Marrakech has many amazing parts, and this day is definitely one of them. We'll be covering about 200 kilometers between Marrakech and Ouarzazate city, and it involves a scenic journey through the High Atlas Mountains and the Tizi N'Tichka pass. The road is meant to be taken slowly because it's not only beautiful but also a mountain pass that crosses the Atlas at an altitude of around 2300 meters.

    To make the day even more special, we'll follow the ancient caravan route that used to connect these two cities. This route takes us through the Ounila Valley, where you'll find Kasbahs built into caves, and we'll also visit the Telouet Kasbah. Finally, we'll reach Marrakech, where you'll have dinner and spend the night at a hotel that matches your chosen hotel category.

  • Day 8: Marrakech Sightseeing [Sightseeing Guided Day Tour]

    Enjoy a day in Marrakech with a local guide. The city is famous for its Jemaa El-Fna, a lively square filled with unique smells, sounds, and experiences. You'll spend a good amount of time here taking it all in.

    But Marrakech has so much more to offer too. You can explore places like the Majorelle Gardens, Menara, and Saadian Tombs, and wander through the Mellah, the old Jewish neighborhood. You can also take a walk along the city walls, and check out the modern side of Marrakech in Gueliz, where you'll find a more Western lifestyle.
