Detailed Day Wise Itinerary

  • Volubilis Day Trip from Fes

We depart from Fez at about 8:00 AM, cruising westward for an easy hour to reach the cool Imperial city of Meknes. Once there, we'll take a break to wander through the town, checking out the markets, and intriguing historical spots, and grabbing a bite for lunch. Meknes has roomier markets than Fez, giving it a laid-back vibe.

Post-lunch, our journey unfolds towards the hillside town of Moulay Idriss, a significant spiritual spot in the country. People make pilgrimages here, drawn by the tomb of Moulay Idriss. After soaking up the vibes in Moulay Idriss, we hop in for a short 4 km ride to the World Heritage Site of Volubilis. Along the way, there are sweet spots for snapping pics of the town.

Volubilis boasts the biggest and most intact Roman ruins in Morocco. If you're keen on the history, a guided tour with an official guide is a good call. Around 5:00 PM, we bid farewell to Volubilis and started the journey back to Fez, aiming to roll in around 7:00 PM.
